Thursday 22nd March 2012 sees the start of the Danish Open

Arena’s latest swimsuit featuring the breakthrough technology of “intelligent compression”, the Powerskin Carbon-pro, will make its debut appearance and hopefully leave a lasting impression in the Danish Soil.

Arena Elite Team member Lotte Friis will wear Carbon-Pro over the following days as she makes the ‘stability requirements’, having already qualified for the London Olympics last year in Shanghai.

The World 1500m Freestyle Champion will swim each consecutive afternoon, starting with the 400m freestyle on Thursday 22nd. Friday she will compete in the 800m, then 200m freestyle on Saturday and finishing Sunday 25th with the 1500m freestyle.

When asked about her preparation for the trials Lotte said. “Since I have already qualified for the Olympics, I only have to swim stability requirements in both the 400m and 800m freestyle events, which I anticipate to run smoothly. I am not tapering for this competition but am training normally and will continue to do so prior and during the meet.” and on her goals for the trials she answered “I want to swim as fast as possible under hard training. The really fast racing will have to wait until the Olympics”. On wearing Carbon-Pro she flashed her winning smile and said “I think the suit is fantastic!. It is so light that I feel I have nothing on but at the same time I can really feel the compression around my hips. The suit feels like part of my body and its movements. I know that with Carbon-Pro I can swim fast and have the confidence to push myself as hard as I can.”
